纯学术的paper可以不看,毕竟不能要求外行看paper,但是至少与这个问题相关的几本畅销书,比如《Why nations fail》、《Guns germs and steel》、《A Farewell to Alms: A Brief Economic History of the World》总应该翻翻看看再过来答题吧?
比如Acemoglu在他最有名的文章《The colonial origins of comparative development: An empirical investigation》里面,就提出了如下的逻辑框架: 殖民地通过影响当地制度影响了今天的经济发展,其使用的工具变量策略使得因果识别变为可能,最终证明非洲的地区之间经济发展差异很大程度上是殖民地时期的不同制度造成的。所以现在中国前殖民地地区的经济发展,有多少是由于殖民地时期的制度造成的?你有什么证据可以说明在中国不存在这种影响呢?
