国际商学院 刘香君2016级 金融学本科生Dear professors, distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen,I’m Liu Xiangjun, from class of 2016. It's my great honor to give a speech at the opening ceremony of International Business School on behalf of all the senior students.Today I feel much like I was brought back to three years ago, when I was one of the audiences, sitting under the stage with huge curiosity, excitement, and surrounded by waves of congratulations and welcomes just as you do. Since that time, I've got a new label--a student from BFSU. But here comes the problem. I am frequently asked by one question: which language do you major. Then I will reply with a smirk: my language is called finance. Some people may feel weird to major in business in a language school, but I firmly believe we’re here for a lot of reasons. I remember our dean once said that business can definitely be regarded as a language without the boundary of nations. With the air of internationalization, our school endows us with a strong sense of communication and innovation. And with an interdisciplinary course system of language and business, we are gradually embedded with compound knowledge background and core competitiveness.Standing at this point as senior students in college, we embrace multiple choices towards future career. Some of us may join the finance industry, some of us may work as a public servant in the government, some may go abroad for further study, and some may even become teachers, reporters and drama directors. As you expect the forthcoming future, I'd like to stress the significance of living in the moment. First of all, hard work matters a lot. The more diligent you are, the more confident you will be. Persistent practice in this superb language learning environment will lay the foundation for your career success in the future. Fortunately, IBS exists as a splendid stage, where both foreign and domestic students can share the academic resources, become language partners, and foster sincere friendship with each other. Besides, our society calls for all-round elites, and accordingly, we are supposed to cultivate all-round abilities. Allocate some time and energy into school activities to enrich your life. Try to be a cog of large-scale events to make a difference. What's more, our own path won’t be carved out without specific blueprint for tomorrow. Keep reflecting on yourselves, and you’ll smoothly ferry to the next stop.In the end, I wish everyone a success in study and good luck to our glorious future!Thank you! |
