“进行”这个词看起来简单，但是很多学生都会用错。大家一定要记住：
①“进行”后面一般加动词
②“进行”后面的动词一般是持续性的、正式的、严肃的
It seems that 进行 is a simple word, but a lot of students may make mistakes. Please do remember:
①Normally, verbs are used after 进行.
②The verbs after 进行 are constant, formal, serious.
我们常说：

- 进行研究（study）
- 进行分析（analyse）
- 进行调查（research）
- 进行交易（trade）
- 进行实验（experiment）
- 进行比赛（contest）
- 进行报复（revenge）
- 进行表演（perform）
现在想一想，可以说“进行吃饭”“进行睡觉”“进行洗澡”“进行聊天”“进行吵架”“进行打扫”……吗？

因为“吃饭、睡觉、洗澡、聊天、吵架、打扫”并不是正式的、严肃的活动，所以不需要用“进行”这个词。
Because eat, sleep, shower, chat, quarrel, clean are not formal or serious activities. So we don't use the word 进行.
